Brian began bodybuilding when he was 17. He
entered a local show, the 1999 North Star, where he won the
teenage division. He fell in love with the feeling
of being on stage and how rewarding it was for all
the hard work of the pre-contest preperation to
payoff. He competed two years later in the 2001 Mr.
Minnesota contest where he placed a disappointing
tenth place in the middleweight open class and third
in the collegiate division. Knowing he needed more
size, Brian got bigger and returned in 2003 and won
the light-heavyweight and overall titles. At 21
years of age, he was the youngest person to ever do
so. He competed most recently at Jr. Nationals, but
once again it only proved that he needed even more
size to win as he moved into national contests, so
Brian is currenlty taking some time off from
competitions to put on the muscle he needs to
compete in the 2007 Jr. USA's or Jr. Nationals
again. He is now 24 years old, stands 5'10"
tall and weighs in at 198 lbs. for competitions (235
lbs. in the off-seaon).
Brian is currently working as a personal trainer at
a small studio in Stillwater, Minnesota. His
long-term goal is to one day own a personal training
studio or gym, Brian has not done any modeling in
the past but would like to get into it. For now he
is working on building a name for himself and
working to attain a sponsor to help push him to the
next level.
